Microsoft 365 backup plan

Backups are now going to be based on your OneDrive account. Your Desktop, Documents and Pictures will be synchronized to your cloud OneDrive account. Note: your Downloads are not put in the cloud. So remember to move your files to their proper Document folder if you want to keep them.

Local image backups are also being performed at some locations which do include your Downloads folder and all your installed applications. Please inquire with us to determine if your machine and location are doing local backups.

If you have a Desktop Computer and a Laptop the backups are structured like this. Each computer will have it’s own local backup on the Synology. But all your files will be synchronized with the OneDrive account so they are exactly the same on both your Desktop and Laptop computer.

We are then performing an additional backup on the Microsoft 365 accounts in a different cloud. That includes your email, OneDrive and Sharepoint files.
